ryangosling

If you haven’t become completely cynical when it comes to Valentine’s Day, we’ve got the perfect mix of sweet, seductive party jams for all you lovers out there.

Prepare your hearts to be rocked oh so hard with our “Lovers” Mixtape!

Jackie Moon | “Love Me Sexy”

If you haven’t seen the highly underrated Will Ferrell gem, Semi Pro, you are really missing out. For now, we’ll focus on his character’s glorious hit-single, “Love Me Sexy.” The movie is based in the 70s on a basketball team. The team’s owner/power forward (Ferrell’s character, Jackie Moon) steals a song from his mother (a great cameo by Patti LaBelle), which becomes a #1 R&B/Soul hit. It sound convoluted, but it is a Will Ferrell, so what do you expect? Just know that “Love Me Sexy” is completely ridiculous, and utterly awesome… for the ladies.

Heavy D & The Boys | “Now That We Found Love”

Forget the romance, the best part of this song is the amazing plastic jumpsuits in the video. The late Heavy D sure knew how to rock an array of insane hats. Oh, how I miss 90s fashion.

Digitalism | “2 Hearts”

It never hurts to have a love song that also gets you out on the dance floor… and the video takes place in a space ship. ‘Nuff said.

David Bowie | “Modern Love”

Honestly, can you have ANY list of songs and NOT include David Bowie on it? Songs about cocaine or dancing in the street with Mick Jagger? Homoerotic astronauts? Bowie’s got you covered.

Lana Del Rey | “Blue Jeans (Penguin Prison Remix)”

Leave it to Lana Del Rey to compare the love of her life to a pair of fitted blue jeans. She may not be much of a songstress, or even an artist, but this Penguin Prison remix is pretty damn good.

Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears | “Bitch, I Love You”

Like James Brown with the mouth of a sailor, Austin native Black Joe Lewis serenades his ladies in a hilariously blunt manor.

Daft Punk | “Digital Love”

If I had my choice, robots would woo me with dance music EVERY Valentine’s Day.
