[Throwback Thursday] Bell Biv Devoe | “Poison”

After the breakup of New Edition, three of their members decided to branch off and create one of the best New Jack Swing songs ever. Their melodic vocals and sultry rhymes, coupled with a great beat, it’s no wonder it was one of the top songs of 1990. Bell Biv Devoe had a few hits in the early 90s, but “Poison” will forever be their flagship.

You may also remember the Turk dance from Scrubs.

[Throwback Thursday] Mark Morrison | “Return of the Mack”

I could only hold off dedicating a Throwback Thursday to Mark Morrison’s 1996 classic for so long. It’s the anthem for any guy who’s been burned by a lady. There’s nothing like being able to tell a lying, cheating girlfriend that her biggest mistake is putting you back on the market, because you’re about to tear it up. And that’s what “Return of the Mack” is all about. Coupled with groovy beat, and an infectious hook (I dare you to find someone who wouldn’t belt out the “You lieeeddd to me” part), “Return of the Mack” isn’t just a song, it’s a lifestyle.

Get your rave on. “A Night At The 90s” Mixtape!

You can’t deny the temptation to jerk your neck and awkwardly dance whenever you hear the beat to any bitchin’ 90s-dance track. Dude, just chill out and get down to this mixtape that we put together which includes, like, the most rad rave songs from the 1990s.  Don’t you just love the over-exerted female vocals, heart-pounding base, wicked synths and random South African beats? We do! So grab a brewskie and download this mix, because it’s all that and a bag of chips.  We know you want an excuse for a high school-dance flashback.
