Imagine an entire house full of dominoes and other various things (like TOAST!) that can be knocked over. Then, you get to knock them all over and watch the chain reaction as it winds its way up three flights of stairs. THEN, imagine there is an A-Trak dance beat playing in the background. You’re welcome.
Much of the inner-Austin area will be shut down this weekend, overrun by industry execs from the film, music, and tech world. That is, essentially, what South by Southwest means to Austinites. It sounds miserable, I know, but at least we can mooch as much as possible from the festival by attending its many free shows, and quite a few of the showcases have amazing artists. Here’s a few sets that are free and (fairly) easy to get into, and seriously can’t be missed.
Presenting your new fav dancey track…drumroll please…you’ve gotta check out”Warrior”! is a culmination of Mark Foster, A-Trak and the adorable Kimbra. You won’t be able to stop 80s dancing to this new one, and you can download it here fo-FREE thanks to Journeys/Converse.
Earlier this year, Duck Sauce’s infectious single “Barbara Streisand,” took the world by storm, thanks, in part, to being featured on an episode of Glee. The super duo, consisting of A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, have dropped another simple-yet-insanely catchy, tune with “Big Bad Wolf.”
We have always been a huge supporter of rockstar ladies, so we decided to combine our fav’s in this mixtape. All these femme fatal’s sing about being bad asses, are super hot and their tracks will for sure get yo’ body movin’ better than the Beastie Boys Fatboy Slim remix. These chicks demand your attention and have super sex-appeal, all the while making awesome music. Is that enough enticement to make you to hit download?
As for our girl Kid Sister, check out her her collab track with Paul Wall and of course her Free Mixtape! Get ready to dance yo’ booty off! We will make sure to get some lovely close up photos of her fabulous nails (Merch has ghetto-nail envy). Here’s her most recent video, even A-Trak himself makes a little cameo.
