Big Sean | “What Goes Around”

Big Sean has been climbing the hip hop ranks lately, especially after playing an insane amount of sets at this year’s South By Southwest music festival. And it doesn’t hurt to be on Kanye West’s label, G.O.O.D. Music.

“What Goes Around” is a great summer jam, chilled out with some slick rhymes.

His debut, Finally Famous, is due out June 28, and is supposed to feature Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Game, Chiddy Bang, Eminem, Mike Posner and many more. Not bad for a start.

Odd Future w/ The Roots on Jimmy Fallon

Hip hop group Odd Future (or OFWGKTA, short for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All) has blown up this last week after their insane set with The Roots on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

They are intense and in-your-face, a nice breath of fresh air into the hip hop main stream, since Public Enemy hasn’t been in the lime light in years, and Eminem has started doing tracks with Pink (gross).

Bonnaroo 2011 Lineup!

Dr. Dre feat. Eminem & Skylar Grey | “I Need A Doctor”

This is definitely a rough and unfinished track from Dr. Dre‘s long-awaited, supposedly upcoming album, Detox. I gotta say, though, that even with all these “unfinished” tracks that have been leaking out over the last year, I have no idea what to expect with Dre’s new album. “I Need A Doctor” is epic, with Eminem practically shouting out his rhymes, and Dre almost half-assing his. The previously leaked “Kush” is much better, in my opinion.

Let’s hope this is just a diamond in the rough, and the new album ends up being Chronic 2001 caliber.

[New Release] Dr. Dre feat. Jay-Z | “Under Pressure”

Here’s the first glimpse and Dr. Dre‘s long awaited Detox album with the leak of “Under Pressure.” It features Jay-Z and has a bit more of an electronic sound than you’d expect from the father of G-Funk.

Dre has announced that the track is not complete, and was not “supposed” to get out. As you can see, it has no chorus and is definitely rough around the edges (and the “New Music Cartel.com drops get annoying), but the fact that we have some idea of what Detox will be is exciting.

It’s been over a decade since Dre released his Grammy-winning “2001,” the follow-up to his other Grammy-winning classic, 1992’s “The Chronic.” Detox will apparently feature 50 Cent, Eminem, D12, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Lady Gaga, Ashanti, T.I., Pharrell, Common, R. Kelly, and Busta Rhymes, among others. Man, that was a friggin’ mouthful.
