Hoodie Allen | “Cake Boy”

Hoodie Allen released the first single off of his upcoming album, Crew Cuts (out Feb. 20th). “Cake Boy” bumps a simplistic beat and lyrics, much in the vein of The Cool Kids. I’m usually fully behind anything Hoodie does, but I have to say I miss his spit-fire rhymes. The video has hot girls and cake. Simple, yet effective.

[New Release] Hoodie Allen | “No Interruption”

Our boy Hoodie Allen is gearing up for his debut EP, All American, by dropping the first single, “No Interruption.” It has that typical Hoodie flow, but he’s incorporated an insanely infectious pop-hook. He even does a bit of singing (and it sounds pretty damn good), that reminds me of Childish Gambino.

The video has beautiful girls, a Dodge Charger doing donuts in a parking lot, and Hoodie in a suit, what else could you want? Apparently, everyone else thinks the same because, in 5 days, “No Interruption” has already garnered over 475,000 hits.

You can snag the single off iTunes, and don’t forget to snag Hoodie’s upcoming EP, All American, out April 10th!

Hoodie Allen | “The Chase Is On” [VIDEO]

New Yorker Hoodie Allen has been tearing up the indie hip hop scene for the last two years. His video for “You Are Not A Robot” garnered a million hits on YouTube, and was featured as the number one track on Hype Machine. Last year, he released the Pep Rally mixtape, the songs we’ve featured on our podcasts, South By Southwest 2011 mixtape, and our Summer 2011 Sampler.

The video for his latest single, “The Chase Is On,” has only been up two days and has already gotten 120,000 hits on YouTube.

You can snag the single on iTunes, and Hoodie’s upcoming mixtape, Leap Year, is due out on Tuesday… FOR FREE.

BC & Merch Summer Sampler!

Summer is finally upon us, which means unbearable heat, whore-bots in swim suits, and a BC & MERCH SAMPLER! Even we were a little overwhelmed with how effing awesome our Summer Sampler is. I mean, every mixtape and sampler we put out is ballin’ outta control, but this is like “Lindsay Lohan on powder” cray cray!

You won’t be able to keep the kids off the dance floor with these tracks. Give in to the heat and you’ll be stripping off your ironic thrift-store clothes when you bump these 14 tracks of pure fancy footwork action.

BC & Merch: Gettin Crunk at SXSW. The Mixtape.

We’re 7 days away from the best week-long celebration…the almighty SXSW music festival. There are tons of indie bands, hipster lo-fi groups, and acoustic sets that will take over downtown venues; but we’ve put together a compilation of the most extreme party-hard acts that will hit this side of the ATX. We always like pulling together a lil’ hip-hop, a lil’ rock, and of course some seizure-causing-dance tracks; so here’s a 19-track mixtape of baller SXSW musicians.

And be sure to make your custom SXSW Schedule!
